"Jeff Wilbusch’s life has been far from conventional. Born in Israel into a Hasidic Jewish community, Wilbusch left at the age of thirteen to pursue an education in The Netherlands before becoming a full-time actor in various locations around Europe. Even as Schön! speaks to him today, he confesses he’s living out of a suitcase, ready at any moment to set off to wherever his diverse and already fairly storied career takes him next.
“It’s something I really like,” he says of his newly mobile life. “It’s something that is really freeing to me right now. Maybe one day will come where I will want to have a place where my base is, but now, I have a kind of flow. It’s really nice.”"

Emilio – Panik

Hair & Make-up: Anna Kürner

Sustainability, make-up and red carpet

Client: Und Gretel, Deutscher Filmpreis

Sustainability is a dear topic to us and we are grateful to work with clients that also take this topic to heart.

One of the highlights by far was our collaboration with Und Gretel, a Berlin-based natural cosmetics brand, for the German Film Award a few months ago on a hot summer day. All of our artists were in the team at different locations, it feels like a class reunion and is a nice opportunity to meet the colleague from the Basics Family.

The event couldn’t be more perfect as the Deutscher Filmpreis had also been actively working on this topic, becoming the only ISO certified event of the Film Industry and winning the 2022 Climate mobility Challenge of the Deutsche Bahn. Especially in the film industry, using environmentally friendly materials for props, sets and costumes, switching to reusable tableware and reducing plastic to local, seasonal catering can make a big contribution to reducing the carbon footprint through many small steps.

From the preparation for the red carpet in Hotel Dorint to the backstage, Basics Hair and Make-up Artists got involved in the event, getting the guests ready for the Red Carpet or touching them up for the stage, exclusively using Und Gretel Products.

Our Make-up Artists´ favorite products, just to name a few: „Ilge“, their translucent Compact Powder, perfect to fix the make-up and get rid of unwanted shine, especially on that very hot day! „Knutzen“, their lip gloss that comes in a beautiful range of colors to fit a variety of skin tones, and „Reine“ their Natural Deep Cleansing Oil!

All three products are beautifully formulated with great and minimal ingredients, both good for the skin and environment friendly.

Und Gretel chose Basics Glam squad again for their recent skincare campaign! Check here.
